Oda von Haldensleben

  • Born: Abt 955
  • Marriage: Mieszko I Prince Of Poland in 978

  General Notes:

Oda von Haldensleben (-1023) was the daughter of the count of the North March Theoderich or Dietrich. According to most accounts she was a nun who was abducted from the monastery of Kolbe by Mieszko I.
Oda and her sons by the duke Mieszko I (named as Dagome), ruler of the Polans tribe appear in a document known as Dagome Iudex. The document itself is one of the keys to this portion of the history of Poland under the Piasts.

Oda married Mieszko I Prince Of Poland, son of Ziemomysl Prince Of Poland and Mrs-Ziemomysl Princess Of Poland, in 978. (Mieszko I Prince Of Poland was born about 935 in Poland, died on 25 May 992 in Poznañ, Poland and was buried in 992 in Poznañ, Poland.)
